Environmental Ethics and the Concept of Life

Abstract

The situation of our planet has generated serious cause for concern. Everyday humanity is confronted with serious environmental crises created as a result of the attempt to conquer or harness nature. This exploitative disposition is causing problems of dangerous proportion than what humanity can handle easily. Ecological problem as we have it today warrant urgent discussion especially in view of its ethical implication. This and other pertinent issues fall within the jurisdiction of environmental ethics. Although, this is a relatively resent study but it is witnessing a phenomenal advancement that is even raising it beyond the arch of applied ethics. This discipline is of vital importance especially when we put the almost apathy and non challance of scientist and many men generally to the environmental repercussion of their investigation. This paper is an explicit study of environmental ethics. We shall clarify environmental ethics, discuss selected environmental ethics, and discuss selected environmental ethics in his century.
