Development of Instruction in Television Creative Presentation Course Through Digital Media

Abstract

The qualitative research entitled the “Development of Instruction in Television Creative Presentation Course through Digital Media” aimed to study 1) the development of effective instruction in Television Creative Presentation Course and 2) the learning outcome focused on management of students in Television Creative Presentation Course. The results revealed as follows:1) The effective instruction was to assign students to implement the strategic planning process for television production. Firstly, the students studied their target population including demography, audience’s behaviors, content to be in line with concept of their production. Then, they had to create content of their television program based on media type and target audiences. The students had to edit their production to be broadcast online. They were to simulate situation of broadcasting and receiving audiences’ suggestion for improving their next episode. Their assigned program was a 6-week episode to be broadcast once a week. Consequently, the students could learn about television production by simulated situations in the classroom.2) The learning outcome of students managing a production of 6-episode television program with 15 minutes per episode showed that students could learn about television production process through the repeated practices. Moreover, the students could understand their own television program better and become more professional in producing several types of programs because of the production focusing on core concept.
