The Development and Promotion of High School Energy Technology Curriculum

Abstract

Recent discussions about energy shortage and sustainable energy have made energy education more important and play a pivotal role in frontier technology. Thus, relative courses on how to effectively produce, use, and research energies should duly start from early stage of fundamental education. This research has great achievement by implementing the concept of Smart Grid, along with the research from our schools previous Hi-Scope science project, such as hydrogen fuel cell, biomass energy and solar power; Based on the above research results, this project developed Model Energy House as the teaching and learning toolkit, and the effectiveness of this project are the following: 1. Students utilize the research method learned from this project to sharpen their scientific inquiry skills. 2. The various designs and content combinations of the Model Energy House provide more features to this toolkit. 3. The cooperation between our school and the industry achieve the more effectiveness of our research results. In summary, energy education is the important sustainability development topic in education. Hopefully, the results of this project will better root the energy education to schools, and eventually improve our living environment.
