Learning Strategies for the Success of EFL Learners : An Evaluation in the Context of Jazan University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Abstract

This paper has examined how Language learning strategies are the key factors for the success of EFL/ESL learners at Jazan University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how these factors influence the rate and ultimate success of FLA/SLA. There were 81 students participated in this study and all were the students of Preparatory Year of Jazan University, Jizan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Basically, foreign language (FL) or second language (SL) learners very on a number of strategies employed by learners while learning and using the target language and therefore it has been found that a ‘good language learner’ is in command of a rich and sufficiently personalized repertoire of such strategies and hence this paper has investigated it as well as it has discovered the strategies students of university of Jizan want to employ for their success by both quantitative and qualitative methods.
