Thailand 4.0 Music Students: Study on Classical Guitar Repertoire Learning Process

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study technique or methodology that music student of Thailand 4.0 uses for accomplishing the assigned repertoire for finding appropriate guitar methods that should be used in the future. Thailand 4.0 is the education system that focuses on developing and innovating knowledge for social need. Integrating and creating new innovations from learner knowledge principles are the result of Thailand 4.0 education. The research instruments included: 1) in-depth interviews with 7 Suan Sunandha University music students (classical guitar major); 2) performance assessment form. Both forms will be analyzed after the samples achieve the assigned repertoire. The results show that the samples are using internet platforms, especially YouTube, about 66.6% as a channel for learning assigned repertoire, while others are still learning the repertories with a private instructor. In the conclusion, students tend to use internet platforms to study the piece, but some amount of students still learn the repertoire with a private instructor.
