Modern Communication: Judgement of the Past

Abstract

The ideology of modern communication that is represented in the current digital era includes highly active participation with online social communication platform and computerised methods. Looking at the perspective from the early 1990’s, the idea of communication perhaps is a subject to differ in comparison with the current practice. However, do these differences occur without any speculation from the yesteryears? In this paper, there will be a comparison or interpretation study based on what was anticipated back then; and how the interrelation works in parallel with the current modern communication practice. Studying back past allegations today will expose the interrelation of the old judgement with the current practice of modern communication. Looking at how information being distributed liberally without meaning verification or how computer is now acting or making decision as ‘human’, makes it a lot clearer to understand the previous concern and speculation. The aim of this paper would be to investigate the correlation between old speculations versus the current communication condition in which it could be a starting point to reflect the future or to predict how far communication will go and where communication will be in 50 years from now.
