Lived Experiences of Student Leaders on the Core Values of an Educational Institution

There are several existing studies all over the world on the core values of institutions- business, medicine, education etc. In these institutions, different stakeholders were targeted to know their perceptions of the individual or the whole set of values present in their own organization. Using a phenomenological inquiry, this study attempts to understand the core values of an institution through the lens of its student leaders ( SL). It answers the central question __How are the core values of a university evidenced by the key student leaders?__ Cool and warm analyses were employed to derive the themes from the layer of experiences. Findings of the study revealed that student leaders act as values carriers, transfer agents and a catalysts.
